Dances
The
local people have some unique type of dances performed
on hareep. Following dances
are common during the festivals, traditional events and
ceremonies.
Jat-hir
(Old man’s dance):
In
this dance more then one persons wear some old style
dresses and dance.
Sword Dance
In
this unique dance the participants show taking two
swords one in right and other in left or one sword in
right and Shield (khee) in left. One to six participants
as pair can dancer. Ghalwar music is used in sword
dance.
Alam Dance
This was an event during the Mir’s time in Hunza
specially the state flag hoisting people manage a
program of dancing called locally as Alam dance.
Aapi Chow Nat
It is
a style of dance in Hunza during the event of wheet-sowing.
In this dance seven to eight persons take part wearing
local Choghas (woolen gowns) with local hats and wearing
hoocho (leather long shoes). |
