Livestock sector is an integral part of an agrarian society in order to provide nutrition as well as manure and drought power for agricultural activities. During old time people were keeping large number of sheep, goats, cows, ox and poultry in order to supplement food requirements and use in agricultural activities. But due to modernization the number of livestock holding has drastically reduced.

This was a common practice that people during summers moved to high pastures where they prepared butter and many other products that was also a source of income from them. Now majority of people purchase milk, meat and other dairy products from markets by spending reasonable amount.
