  Women expedition set new landmark in history
 

On September 10, 2007 women expedition team scaled the Kuksil peak II in the extreme North of Pakistan bordering with China.This was an opportunity for the women to enhance confidence and to give a chance to becomes experienced and learned members of the society with the greater values of tolerance, unity and sisterhood. Moreover, it gave a chance to manage diversity and essence of pluralism also to develop leadership skills so that much of the ignored part of the society gets an opportunity to show their abilities that they can triumph the mountains heights.

The expedition team guided and trained by famous climbers Mr. Rajab and Meherban. A 15 young women participated from the region of Hunza in the expedition, which was first time in the history, organized by Ismaili Council for Hunza as part of its celebration activities of Golden Jubilee of His Highness the Aga Khan, the 49th hereditary Imam of Ismaili Muslim.

On the success of women expedition, community leaders, notables, elders, women and children from the region participated and expressed their appreciation on the courage, confidence and strength of women as climbers and community builders making history in mountaineering and climbing. These celebrations encouraged and instilled a message of unity, harmony; believe in strength of women of today and tomorrow.
