Research Institutions: We work with two type of national
and international research institutions; a) those
who are interested in carrying out research work in the
Karakoram region, we offer support in conducting field work,
help in providing access to local communities and arrange
local logistics and boarding/lodging facilities; b) for
those interested in cases on 'Best Practices' in community
and sustainable development issues from the mountain
communities, we conduct customized case studies and provide
necessary development research information and material
required by our clients..

Socially
Responsible Corporate Sector: The Karakoram region has
aggressively opened for international trade, tourism and
utility goods during the last one decade. Many tour
operators, international brands in food and drinks can be
seen everywhere and making good fortunes in these mountains.
We offer customer feedbacks, research into social, cultural
and environmental effects of these products and help in
identifying local partners in launching social marketing
projects. We also conduct research into creative cultural,
community and eco-tourism products.

Development
and Conservation Agencies: A number of development and
conservation agencies operate in the
Northern Areas and the Karakoram region. We offer services
in providing interns, conducting field research and project development
support in thematic areas like: community integrated development, informal
education, NGO enhancement, Gender mainstreaming,
community-based conservation and environmental management
and heritage-based enterprise development.

Research Scholars/students: We offer services like field
work, data compilation, office and secretarial support and
access to local communities and institutions to individual
researchers/research students, both national and
international interested in doing research work in the
Karakoram region.

Civil
Society Organizations: We provide services like: project
development, development of governance & management
systems, project/organization appraisal, documentation of
activities, web page development and linkages with funding
agencies and reporting.

Governments and Policy Makers: There are two
approaches: i) we organize thematic seminars, workshops and
discussions and undertake case studies on issues that
require short-to long term government investment, priority
and attention, and ii) we also focus on government policies
and laws that are negatively affecting peoples lives or the
natural resources and require change in policy. Through
research, dialogue, advocacy, lobbying and social activism,
we try to make government policies people-friendly.
